Worship with us on September 5
~
Rev. Jan Cook preaching
We celebrate the sacrament of Baptism today at the 9:45 a.m. CrossRoads service.
Allison Maria Krivda is presented by her parents, Jodi Gregg and Scott Krivda,
as an act of love and obedience to Jesus Christ.
In Baptism, we participate in Jesus’ death and resurrection;
we die to what separates us from God and are raised to newness of life in Christ. Baptism points us back to the grace of
God expressed in Jesus Christ,
who died for us and who was raised for us.
Baptism points us forward to that same Christ who will fulfill God’s purpose in God’s promised future.
The Baptism of children witnesses to the truth that God’s love claims people before they are able to respond in faith.
In the divine dance of love, it is always God that takes the lead.
To Those Who Are Serving Our Congregation Today
Thank you to our many committed volunteers who are serving today as greeters, ushers, welcome center staffers, coffee hour hosts, punch servers, sound board operators, Sunday school teachers and helpers, choir members and instrumentalists!
Sundays run smoothly because of you!
Nursery care is available throughout the morning. Children’s bulletins are available in the basket located on the lower chancel.
A
CD ($5) of worship services is available upon request.
Please call the church office.
Audio sermons are available on our Web site at
www.fpchhi.org
under “Worship with Us.”
Large-print bulletins and hearing devices are available from the ushers.
Please note the Ministry Request cards that may be found inside the friendship pads.
You are invited to submit a prayer request on the reverse side which will be forwarded to Pastor Jan Cook and the Prayer Ministry.
The cards may be placed in the offering plate or mailed to the church office.
