Welcome to First Presbyterian Church!
We hope you experience a warm welcome and a sense of God’s presence while worshiping with our church family. At FPC we believe that God is writing a story of hope for all in the world and YOU are an integral player in the story! Help us to get to know you by signing the friendship pads as they are passed during the service and join us for coffee and conversation at fellowship time following worship services.  We hope you will visit us on Sunday morning.  We look forward to becoming a part of your story!

Come see us in the Gathering Space on Sunday!
Welcome Visitors!  We invite you to come to the Gathering Space following worship, have a cup of coffee and a sweet, and stop by the visitor’s table to say hello.  We have a  welcome gift for you and would especially like to share what is happening here at First Presbyterian Church.

Next Steps:
Now that I’m here, what’s my next step?
† Join us for coffee and fellowship following worship;
† Attend a Sunday school class, Bible study or fellowship event;
† Serve through our Volunteer Ministry;
† Meet others by joining an affinity group;
† Sign up for Membership Exploration, an opportunity to meet others, learn about our mission and values, hear our pastors’ stories and connect into our large church. Membership Exploration classes are held throughout the year.  Call Jean Tharin in the church office at 843-681-3696 for information about joining FPC.

From the beginnings in 1953 when services were held in the chapel on Honey Horn  Plantation (moved to the entrance to the church on U.S. 278), First Presbyterian Church was incorporated in 1957 under the Charleston Atlantic Presbytery.  The church has grown from the original 17 charter members in 1957 to 1,400 members today, and welcomes visitors and everyone to  worship, studies and programs.

What about my family?
Beginning with the little ones, nursery is available for infants through 2-year-olds on Sunday mornings from 8:30 – 12:30. At FPC we have Sunday school for ages 3 through 5th grade in our Children’s Ministry, using the PCUSA curriculum, Deep Blue.  During the school year there is Christian education, Bible study and music on Wednesdays after school. Click here for more information about Children’s Ministry.  Sunday school for youth is held at 11:00 a.m.  Middle  school youth gather for pizza and Bible study on Wednesday nights and senior high school youth gather for Bible study and fellowship on Tuesday nights.
