Sarah Circle to Host Spring Luncheon on March 19

Speaker: David Lauderdale

On Thursday, March 19, at 11:30 a.m., members of FPC’s Sarah Circle will host a buffet lunch and talk by renowned Lowcountry author David Lauderdale. The luncheon benefits the Village of Summerville, a Presbyterian retirement community located near Charleston. As in years past, Sarah Circle has a list of items for those living at the retirement home. The items will be collected at the luncheon. You can pick up a luncheon flyer, which includes the donation list, at the Ministry Table in the Gathering Space. Lauderdale’s topic is “Lowcountry Life” as seen through the eyes of a  number of remarkable Lowcountry women. Lauderdale is a senior editor and columnist at The Island Packet and Beaufort Gazette. He writes columns and editorials about Lowcountry life and has been recognized for his coverage of the environment, mental health, the Gullah culture, literacy and local history. At FPC, Lauderdale has been a deacon and elder and teaches an adult Sunday School class called “Lowcountry Lessons.”  The cost for attending the luncheon is $20 per person. To sign up you can do so in the Gathering Space on Sundays, call the church office, 843.681.3696, or click the box below. Payment will be collected at the door on March 19.
