The Power of Prayer

We believe in the power of prayer and in living what we pray. So, let us join our hearts in the following prayer after the anniversary of September 11 and the murder of Charlie Kirk this past week.
God of peace, we confess that violence is often our response to differences and our solution to conflict. We see its devastating ripple effects in dead bodies, traumatized children, bereft families and fearful communities.
God of mercy, forgive us. By Your Spirit in us, remind us of Jesus' teachings: to turn the other cheek; to be peacemakers; to love even our enemies; indeed to love one another as He loved us.
God of grace, lead us to forgive; to build bridges; to listen and learn, even when we disagree; to sow seeds of justice, peace, love and hope. Amen.
